Tuesday, November 15

I have just got back from signing up for a new job! I am very excited!!
It is waitressing at a local winery, they do weddings, confrences and it is also a motel. The best thing is that it only takes 5 minutes to get there!!
I am not sure when I will be starting, as they have not done the rosters yet!

So tomorrow I am going shopping as I only have one white shirt - so I should get another ( any excuse to shop I say) I will be going to highpoint - which is a huge centre, so will be getting heaps of walking done, and I may go to the new DFO at essendon airport too, if time permits!!

Well hope all are having a great day!! - better get back to some housework:(

Saturday, November 12

Friday, November 11

I lost .7 this week, which means I got another carriage - a red one this time!
And because I was the highest weight loss for the week, I also got a free weigh in/meeting voucher for next week!
When I was doing my shopping afterwards I wasn't really feeling hungry, I was going to grab a salad roll just because it was noon, but I said to myself why eat if I am not hungry? So I told myself I would get something later!! So no takeaway after weigh in at all!! (for the first time ever!)

I went to my Dads around 1.30 ( I do this every week- he is a shift worker, so is home during the day!) He was cooking vegies with noodles for my little sister - so ended up having a small bowl which was much healthier!

Today I did a dvd that arrived yesterday - line dancing for beginners!
We have an elderly lady at my meeting that does line dancing and she is so fit, so I thought I would give it a go! I can really feel it in my legs - I was a litle un coordinated but with practice I will get there! thats why I got a dvd instead of finding a class.
I brought the dvd from www.LineDance.com.au

Well I have to go and find all your blogs again, yesterday for some reason all my bookmarks had dissapeared!! So if I have not visited you - I may not have found you again..lol

Hope you all have a great weekend:)

Tuesday, November 8

I found this on Angels blog today,which gave me something to think about, she got it from the diet club website;

Weekend Calorie Crunching

When the weekend hits it's easy to think ' I was good all week, it's time to party' but consider this:

There are 104 weekend days per year. Add another 26 if you count Friday night as a half weekend day as a total of 130 days.

Now mutiply by 300 calories, which is a relatively low estimate of the calories you won't burn because you feel you shouldn't exercise or the extra calories you'll consume in weekend treats, and you have accumulated 39,000 calories - the equivalent of about 5 kilo's!

Although the occasional splurge can actually be a good thing, it's best to think of weekends as just an extention of the week. Keep eating right and exercising often!

I find my problem is not normally weekends - mine is thursday as I weigh in the morning and then do my shopping and eat lunch in town (naughty takeaway), which leads to friday too!!...and then if I am having a problem weekend ( party ect) I tend to work my butt off to undo any damage...I really need to stop this!!!

So this thursday I am going to have a salad roll, or subway instead to KFC or Chinese or potato cakes like last week :<

Monday, November 7

I have spent most of this morning at the local pool with Luke watching his school swimming lesson. He is doing really well, putting his head in the water - a far cry from the little boy that used to scream the whole house down while we tried to wash his hair!!

Spent yesterday at a friends house down in Essendon relaxing in the sun it was nice to be able to just sit there and do nothing - thats what I love about summer ( typing as it is raining outside)

The last few days I have found it hard to motivate myself to exercise because it has been so warm ~ no trouble with water intake though!!

Last night since the boys had takeaway pizza, For myself I made a sweet chilli ham and potato pizza that I copied off www.my lunchbox.blogspot ( can't work out the link) - it was really yummy, I didn't use the sour cream and I added mushrooms! will definetley be making that one again!!

I am going to go get my butt into gear and do some airwalker while I watch Blue Heelers. Hope everyone is having a great day!!

Thursday, November 3

Just a quick update to let you know I lost .6 today - I was stoked as I thought that I was going to turtle again! So today I got a yellow carriage!

We all went to lunch for Oaks day today - so I am quite full at the moment:)

Town does have a website -www.townclubsofvic.org (I think that is it!)
There is a link to the website on the Annette Sym website!

About the old points - they have changed a bit, some of the newer people will be able to explain more!!

Will update more later - gotta go pick Luke up from activities!
Have a great day:)

Tuesday, November 1

We are all enjoying our long weekend here!
I am happy to say that even though Vic and the boys have been home, I have managed to do some form of exercise everyday!
The cup is on this afternoon - I have backed the Diva, as I don't really know what other horses are around - and I have backed her for the last couple of years!

Not much else really happening, so I thought I would post the recipe for the cottage pie we had for tea last night!

Cottage Pie serves four, 5 points each ( the old points)

2 tsp olive oil
1 onion, chopped finely
1 stick celery, chopped finely
500g lean beef mince
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1 tablespoon flour
400g canned tomatoes - I used crushed
1/2 cup beef stock
1 carrot, grated
5 medium potatoes
1/2 cup skim milk
2 tablespoons parmesan cheese

Heat a large frypan, cook the onion and celery till soft. Add the mince and cook. Stir in garlic and flour. Add tomatoes, carrot and stock, bring to boil then reduce heat and simmer till mixture is thick and moist.
Meanwhile. Cook potatoes until tender. Mash with milk.
Spoon meat into ovenproof dish. Spread the mashed potato on top and gently press down with the back of a fork. Sprinkle with cheese and bake 30 minutes till heated through and golden on top.
Enjoy!!!

Friday, October 28

This week I lost .8 which means I got my carriage to go with my train engine which is in the photo. I also put in the little turtle I got last week for staying the same!

So at the moment I need to lose 1.7 to get to 80 kilo's - which means I get to use my gift voucher!

And for my 'get to 75 kilo's by christmas challenge' I have 6.7 kilo's to go in 8 weeks which is very achievable:)

Every year Vic's work has a day out for christmas break up, that includes the wives too. (There are only seven workers) They are always great days out - last year we went to the Kyneton cup, the year before on a river cruise then the guys went paintballing while the girls went shopping and the best one was hot air ballooning!!

Last night Vic brought a flier from the Queenscliff day spa (www.queenscliffdayspa.com.au) we get to chose what treatments we want done to the value of $100 If we want to spend more we pay - there is so much to chose from!! Any suggestions will be welcome!
I have never been to a place like that before!!

While the girls are getting pampered the guys are going on a charted fishing trip. Vic said they also mentioned something about a train ride as well!

Since it is melbourne cup this week, the boys have Monday off school, and Vic won't be working either, so it's a very long weekend for us ~ we won't be doing a whole lot, maybe some visiting!

Tommorrow night is my best friends 31st party ~ she was pregnant for her 21st so she is having a big one this year.
We went out for lunch today as we do as our birthdays are only a week apart
saves going out twice! We has a pub meal which was quite filling, so it's a light dinner for me:)

Hope everyone has a great weekend!!

Tuesday, October 25

Firstly thankyou all for your birthday wishes:)
For thos ewho asked I don't go to weight watchers meetings ~ I did at home for a while, then I joined a group called TOWN which is a very fun and supportive bunch of girls ~ A little like a once a week blog face to face..lol

I was tagged by FBB;

The fifth line out of my 23rd post was,
'Only problem today was I made some gingerbread cookies...

I had made the cookies from the latest Slimming Mag ~ they were so good I had eaten a fair few..
Most people have already done this - if you haven't you are tagged!!

This week has been great so far! I have had my determination hat (thanks M,) on very tight. And I am actually looking forward to weigh in this week ~ I think he fact that christmas is so close has given me a kick up the butt, so to speak:)

Yesterday I had to go into town to pay bills ect... I told myself before I left that I was not going to have anything to eat till I got home, as I walked past the food court, I kept going knowing that I would have a yummy lunch when I got home. This is a big step for me as I always have lunch when I go into town ( I brought myself a magazine instead!!)

Before I go.. I found a site that has some great weight loss tools, a ww calculator and lots of spread sheets it is worth a look. http://wwcalculator.blogspot.com/

Sunday, October 23

It has been a while since I have posted. The last few days I have had the worst hayfever ever!!
It seems to be getting better, but I still have a slight headache (but that may be from alcohol)
I weighed in on Thursday and turtled (stayed the same) ~ I wasn't expecting a big loss because of the last weeks loss, but I thought I would have lost something since I had been pretty good all week!
Yesterday was my Birthday ~ I was woken at 7am by the boys with breakfast and presents, which included candles and a glass lamp. Vic gave me a voucher to buy clothes which think I won't use till I get to under 80 kilo's!
We went out to lunch with my family at a local pub ~ and for tea had a BBQ. I ate pretty well considering ~ had a few scotches as well.
I weighed myself this morning and I am only a little bit up ~ so I will be VERY good for the next few days!!
At our weigh in group we were given a little train engine for not gaining this week, if we lose again we will get a little carridge to go with it ( in six weeks we should have an engine and 5 carridges) but if we gain weight we have to give a piece back!
I want to keep my engine so that is motivating me to do well, and when I lose over 2.5 I will be under 80 kilo's then I can go clothes shopping!!

Today it is nine weeks to christmas,I am making a mini goal to myself to try to be at 75 kilo's as this was the weight that I was on my birthday last year!!
So I will be trying my best XXX

Hope everyone is having a great weekend:)

Tuesday, October 18

It is such a lovely day here today ~ it's a shame I had to work for half of it!
It was so bright this morning even the boys were out of bed before 7am, which was great as it makes the morning run really smoothly:)
The show was great on Sunday! I should have worn a pedometer though, for all the walking I did. I was on my feet all day! The guy who announced what was happening was in the middle of the football oval - so everytime I needed something said on the loudspeakerI had to jump over the fence and run to the middle of the oval - I slept very well Sunday night!!
I woke up with a very sore back yesterday (must have been from jumping over the damn fence) and i am a little sunburnt on my chest ,so I had a hot bath and took it easy all day:)
Eating was very good, I took salad rolls and bottles of water to the show and other snacks for the boys - worked out cheaper than buying food, and the boys were happy as they could have extra rides and showbags!

Well nearly time to go pick the boys up ~ I think I will walk to school to get them!
Hope everyone is having a great day!

Chris - I am a libran, my birthday is the 22nd which is the last day of Libra:)

Saturday, October 15

Thankyou everyone for all your congratulations and words of encouragement!
I have a tough couple of weekends coming up - so I am hoping to continue well with my eating!

Tommorrow is the local show - and it will be a long day, I organise the childrens activities so I need to be there around 6am, and we won't be leaving til at least 7pm!(depending on drinkies)
Next week end it's my birthday, and the weekend after that, my best friend is having a party ~ so there will be alcohol involved!! I have managed to avoid it for a while:)

Well hope everyone is having a great weekend ~ hope the bloggers in joggers have a great time!!

Thursday, October 13

Just a quick post before I go pick the boys up from school!

Went to weigh in this morning and lost 2.5 Kilo's!

I am a very happy chicky today:)

Wednesday, October 12

Glad you all liked the calender ~ Paying bills has sure been fun this week:)
On Sunday - Vic brought me a Lily plant from work, which was really sweet - so I have planted it in the garden.

Otherwise ~ not alot has been happening!

I have been doing very well with my eating, exercise and water - so I am expecting a good loss tommorrow:)
I have my meals planned for the week and my shopping list filled out and ready for tommorrow.
I am using the list Jodie sent me ( adapted to what I need to buy) A big thanks to Jodie for sending it to me:)
...So I will be back tommorrow with my weigh in results!!

Congratulations to Kate, who has just announced that she is expecting her second baby:)

Sunday, October 9

Here is a picture of the Tree nursery guys ~ my hubby is the one closest to the cab (the left).
The guys are February 2006!!
It was a great night, the calender runs for two years - so there are many locals in it!
Including the local cop, postman, petrol station, bakery and more!
It will make shopping more fun from now on *wink*

...I have been a little sad today ~ as it has been a year since Nan died!
I brought some lillies ( her name was lily) to remember her, as I cannot get to the cemetary.

My sister had a jewlery party, so I brought myself some gold hoop earrings and a bracelet :)
Hope everyone has had a great weekend!!

Saturday, October 8

Thankyou everyone for all your words of encouragement and support!!
I have been doing really well the last few days:)
Vic and I are going out tonight for his calender launch( it is a community nude calender!!) - so I went shopping the other day to get a shirt to wear. It was the first time in ages that I really looked at my back, in the mirrors! I was shocked at the fat rolls!!
This morning I got Jason to take some photo's for me as encouragement, one of my back, and a side on ( I hope that isn't cruelty to children...lol). I am not brave enough to post them as yet, I was quite discusted at them myself ...but maybe when I have smaller ones to compare to!
I am going to print them out for me, and have them sitting in my food diary:)
Well I have to go take the boys down to my sisters ~where they are spending the night!
Hope you are all having a great weekend:)

*Edit* I printed those photo's 5x7

Wednesday, October 5

This week I have felt really fat and frumpy!!
I have weigh in tommorrow, the first for two weeks;
In the past fortnight my exercise and eating has been very dismal. The only thong I have really kept up is my water.
The main reason has been change of routine and lack of planning~coming home from the cafe tired and having takeaway - or something quick and easy - not healthy!
I knew that I had already gained early on in the week, and I kinda got depressed about it...
So what did I do??
I ATE MORE!!
A normal person would have exercised and eaten like a angel!
I frustrate myself!!!
BUT
I have prepared to have a great week ahead!
I have worked out my meals ~ written my shopping list, and that is all I will be buying.
No excuses!!
When I am working I have had lunch made for me - from now on I will be making myself something healthy!...and I will NOT touch any of the cakes or slices:)

I am feeling positive and I won't let tommorrows gain get me down, because
I already know it will be a better result next week!

*Update*
Weighed in and gained 2 kilo's!
I am hoping to lose a decent part of that next week!
I have all my vegies to chop up, I will have them in a container - so I just need to grab a handful for a stirfy. I have different sauces and meat for variety. It wont take long to cook tea at all - no takeaway's for me:)

Saturday, October 1

I had a great day Thursday. I learn't how to make coffee's and hot choc, did some dishes, arranged new gift items - it was really fun!
I am still on trial - as the other woman has a few people she is looking at, I go back on Sunday. It will be the first time they open on a Sunday, so not sure how long the day will be:)

My brother has been given a court date in Dec - so not much to worry about til then...lol

Today Vic had to deliver some trees in the work truck - and he has taken Jason with him ~ so Luke and I are having a quiet day to ourselves.
School goes back on Monday - so am busy making sure the boys will be organised:)
Hope all are having a great weekend!

Wednesday, September 28

My eating has been at little crappy the last 2 days! My little brother (21) has got himself in a bit of trouble with the police - so the whole family has been kinda stressed...waiting to find out what is going to happen!
I have really noticed today that I have been mindless eating - luckly I don't have much junk food around - but I have been eating way to much!
I am really proud of myself in the fact that while I was driving home yesterday afternoon (feeling really stressed out) I talked myself out of stopping to pick up a family block of chocolate! I must be starting to think like a normal thin person:)
I have got my food for tommorrow all planned out so I will be strating afresh. I start work at 9am...I can't wait!!!

Monday, September 26

Thank you all for crossing your fingers for me...it worked!!!
The interview went really well, I am doing a trial on thursday to see if I like it, and if I do the job is pretty much mine:)
It is a little coffeeshop/cafe, I will be learning to use a coffee machine aswell as making light meals. They also sell a few gift items as well! I can't wait till thursday!!!
...the only bummer is I won't be able to weigh in this week (officially) but I will weigh in at home:)
I am not sure of exact days I will be working - the shop is closed on Mondays. The boss, Stella said I should be working at least 30hrs per week.
So if I end up having to work on Thursday's I will transfer to a night time group to weigh in - which will be a tuesday!
Well off to cook dinner:)

Sunday, September 25

So excited!!

I spent most of today at my sisters house - she had a Le Reve party, so I have brought a few oils that I had run out of!
When I got home there was a message on the machine from another traineeship that I applied for a while back for a cafe in Romsey (5 mins from home) I rang her back and talked for a while, and it really sounds like a great job and the owner sounds really nice too - I have to go in for an interview tommorrow afternoon...so I am really excited, this would be even better than the one I went for the other day, so much closer to home! The other one was in Sunbury which is a 40 min drive!
I also changed my photo again - this one looks more like me I think. I was starting to hate the other one...lol
Keep your fingers crossed for my interview tommorrow!! Will post to let you know how it went:)

Thursday, September 22

Sorry about the lack of updates, the boys are on holidays so we have been out and about since the weather has been nice!
I weighed in this morning and lost .4, my eating has been really good this week!
I went for my first interview in years this morning. It was for a hospitality traineeship, I was really nervous - but I think it went ok. If the company is interested they will call me for another interview, so fingers crossed I will be called again:)
If I don't get it the lady said that my details are kept for 6 months and they will call me if any other traineeships turn up. So I just have to wait!!
Well better go get dinner ready - hope everyone is having a great week:)

Friday, September 16

Have been busy the last few days, but I am doing OK!
We had the school concert on Wednesday night (photo's below) which was a really great night, Jason really loves to preform, and judging by this year, Luke seems to love it too!
The boys got to sleep in on Thursday morning (with permission by the principal), so I missed my weigh in this week. I weighed my self this morning and I gained 1.4 - not very happy with that, but I really deserved it, and I am lucky that it was not more than that:)

Yesterday I brought a sample pot of the colour that the boys chose to have their room painted, so today I painted some area in their rooms to see how it looks(it's a light bluey grey) - if they (and Vic) like it I will buy the big tin next week and get painting. I could even start the 'cutting in' bits on the weekend, as the sample pot has quite a bit in it!

Well must go get ready to pick the boys up from school, they finish at 2pm today as it is the end of term!
Hope everyone has a great weekend:)

Here is my very proud son showing off the green belt he earnt tonight. He did very well in his grading exam!!

much better!!

I feel alot better today - have not really been good eating wise, but my head is in a better space (if that makes sense!)
Thankyou all for your comments - I didn't really want to blog it, but I knew if I didn't, that it would get worse and worse and I would just give up...But I don't wanna give up - so thankyou all for the support:)
I have so much on this week - I think I just stressed out BIG time.
Jason is going for his green belt in karate tonight.
Wednesday I am working at school all day - then we have the school concert at night - I have been madly sewing the last few days...lol
And on Thursday another AGM! So my week is chock full!

NOTE:At the AGM I went to on saturday the last line of the pledge was officially taken off!

Monday, September 12

I feel like crap!
I have been eating crap for the last few days and just can't seem to stop! I hate feeling like this!
to make things worse my car is not going, so I had to stay home today - and maybe tommorrow if the part does not turn up, so have been in a real grumpy mood and have been mindlessly snacking. It has been pouring all day - so can't even go out for a walk!
I don't really have much else to say, so I will leave it at that.
Sorry so negative today,I am planning on going to bed early tonight ~ and hopefully will wake up on the right side tommorrow:)

Thursday, September 8

Weigh in today and I lost .4 - which means I have exactly 17 kilo's to go till christmas!!
I now have to go email paulene my loss for the Who challenge:)

About our town pledge - we have had dicussions at management level that some want to lose that last line - while others want to keep it, at my last meeting, most groups want it gone. The big AGM is this saturday and the final vote will be done!

Weigh in group was great this morning - we did a mini circuit of exercises, and finished with a relaxation cd... I left really energised!!

Hope everyone is having a great day!

Wednesday, September 7

This is a picture of Vic's "beloved" fountain. This is out the front too!
This is a view of half of our front yard

Tuesday, September 6

Things are going great at the moment with my eating and exercise!! I am wanting to do really well on my spring goal that I set myself in the post below, So I have joined Paulene's Who challenge to keep me going:)
Not much else to say tonight so I thought I would share the town pledge that we say to open our weight loss meeting every week;

I am an intelligent person.
I will control my emotions and not let my emotions control me.
Everytime I am tempted to use food to satisfy my frustrated desires,
build up my ego or dull my senses.
I will remember
Even though I overeat in private,
my excess weight is there
for all the world to see.
What a fool I've been!

Hope everyone is having a great week!!

Sunday, September 4

Just a quick post;
Have been doing really well foodwise the last few days~and I am still having 3 litres of water and exercising everyday:)
We spent a quiet day at home today - Vic's father lives in Tassie, so we spoke to him this morning. My dad is travelling around the middle of Australia at the moment - his mobile was out of range so we have left a sms for him.
The boy's and I took Vic to his favorite pizza resturant for tea, I had 2 slices of pizza~and was not even guilty as I had allowed for it for the day:)
Well I will leave it at that, hope everyone had a great weekend!

Happy Fathers Day to all the dad's out there:)

AGR~ The photo of the boys was taken on the front porch looking out on the front garden, my husband works for a nursery, so spends alot of time in the garden - we have a fountain too that hubby really loves~ will have to take a pic:)

Thursday, September 1

First day of Spring!

I weighed in officially today - and lost .1
Which means I actually lost 2.7 this week~so I am extreamly happy:)

Have been having a look at my weight loss stats; I started at 98 kilo's, am down to 82.4 (15.6 kilo's lost) and my goal weight for now is 65 ( when I started town, I had to get a doctors cert saying what weight he would like me to get down to, when I reach that weight I have the option to go back to the doc and get a new cert with a new weight) - which is 17.4 kilo's to go which means I am very close to my half way mark:)

At the moment my goal is to get back to at least 70 kilo's before christmas - that was my weight in october '04, before Nan died!
That means I need to lose 12.4 kilo's in 17 weeks, which equals to about . 7 a week~I think that is really achievable!
So that is my Spring to Christmas goal!! Now I will have to think of something really cool as a reward, any ideas welcome:)

Here is a pic that suzy had on her blog - I have printed it out and put it on the fridge.

Tuesday, August 30

We all got up early this morning - it has poured with heavy rain most of the night - and it's really windy!
I am still at my course - in the last week I have applied for a few Hospitality traineeships, so I am waiting to see if I am successful - I hate waiting...

On the "diet" front I have been an angel~as of this morning I have .8 to lose by thursday to be at the same weight I was when I last weighed in officially:)
- I'ts a shame that I can't be an angel like this every week!
To help with the not feeling like cooking because I am so tired - I brought some ww and lean cuisine meals, so there has been no takeaway at all!!
I also have been drinking 3 litres of water again and having a green tea when the others go for a coffee.
Well I hope everyone is doing well - I have been reading some blogs during the day, but not able to leave a comment on some because I am not registered on the other computers!

**To Margaret - hope the news about your Mum is positive:)

Friday, August 26

This is a photo taken of the boys before school yesterday. They had to dress up as their favorite book characters. Jason went as Harry potter, and Luke went as Spiderman:)
First I would like to thank you all for your lovely posts of support:)
I do believe that if I had not posted what I was feeling the other day, that I would still be going down the wrong(crap) food track.

My unofficial weigh in resulted in a gain of 2.4. I have already got rid of another .2 today, which I am stoked about since we went to a friends place last night for his birthday and had pizza for tea(2 slices), and I had 2 lemon, lime and vodka UDL cans - so if I put in the work this week, hopefully I can make a big dent out of this figure by next Thursday:)

Had a bit of a stressful day yesterday, just before I went to the job centre, I stopped to buy a salad roll from the bakery. When I got back in my car there was was no power at all, I had to lock all the doors individually - and could not even reopen the doors with the key!
Wost thing for me is that my Dad lives a 5 minute walk away - but he has gone on a 4wd trip up the centre of Australia for a month.

So I walked down to the job place to tell the girl what was going on - and burst into tears, as I was so stressed out, from being late and not knowing what to do - and extremly worried about getting home in the afternoon. She said it was fine, and to take as long as I need, so I walked to the Holden dealer and they were really nice - the guy drove me up to my car, and worked out that it was a flat battery, he wiggled some wires and drove the car back to the dealership, drove me back to the job place and said he would fix it up!
I came back when I had finished the job stuff - and he said the car was ready and explained what he had done. When I asked how much - he said 'Don't worry about it" and sent me on my way. I rang hubby and told him what had happened, and when I told him there was no charge - he took the guy some beer to thank him:) As he had been so nice!

I will go have a read how everyone else is going, hope you all have a great weekend:)

Monday, August 22

confession time...

This weekend (and today) has been shocking eating wise. Hubby has noticed how tired I have been - so he brought takeaway home all weekend!!
I also have been eating whatever since Friday. I think it is due to being out of sorts because my routine has been totally different. And also a little bit naughty because I already know I won't be able to make it to weigh in on thursday!
I checked the scales before and I am 3 kilo's up - so I have alot to do in the way of damage control:)
So starting in the morning - back on track!!!!
I have been doing good in the last few weeks, and I am really pissed at myself for wrecking it!

Friday, August 19

I have a free day today - which really isn't that free since all I have done all morning is a whole lot of housework I had to catch up on:)
I quickly went to weigh in yesterday and lost 800 grams which I am happy about!

The things I am doing during the day are things like getting a proper resume up and going, writing application letters and help with interview questions.
I am waiting to do a course in aged care - which won't come up for a while, so am hoping to pick up some work until then. The Tuesday night course is a food handlers course - to help with any future employment!
I was hoping to get out for a walk today - but it is pouring really hard. It has been really nice all week, but I have been stuck in a classroom, the one free day it rains~typical!!
Well hope all of you have a great weekend~not alot happening here, Vic is working all weekend and I have homework to do!

Tuesday, August 16

Just a quick post to let you know that I am still here!
At the moment I am doing a get back into the workforce course which is quite fun during the day - it will last for 3 weeks.
Then for the next 3 Tuesday nights I am doing a food handlers course...so busy, busy, busy!!
So far have had a good week eating wise - and I did a 40 min walk last night, and am hoping to do another on Wednesday night!
Water is down to 2 litres a day - or else I would miss most of the course...lol..
Well hope everyone else is having a great week - will catch up when I can:)

Friday, August 12

This isn't very clear - but this is the view I have to put up with daily...lucky me!

This is the start of the walking track. If you go to the right it is a 2 minute walk to my house!
As you can see it is a lovely day here today.
Have had a great start to the day - as soon as I dropped the boys off at school I went for a walk, it took 55minutes. I drove it later and it was 4.7km's.
I came home and did some housework, which was a breeze with the energy that I have, so now the rest of the day is just for me...
By the way I gave all access chocolate to the boys in their school lunches - So you will not have to come over and thump me Felicity...lol
I will go now and see if I can post some photo's of where I walk - not quite as nice as Kate's spots, but still nice!

Thursday, August 11

Unfortunatley no Turtle for me :(
I gained .3 - I have eaten a whole heap of chocolate, and now I feel sick...lol
I have already planned to go for a walk when I drop the kids to school in the morning!
I remember one leader at a zone meeting saying once ' to gain once is not too bad, but to gain twice in a row is very bad' SoI won't be gaining twice in a row!

Yes the new photo is of me - the other one was too dark and taken side on, this one shows what I really look like. It was taken at our awards night in June this year and my weight is the same as it was then!

Hope everyone else has had a great day:)

Wednesday, August 10

It snowed here at lunchtime - only lightly, and it is frezzing here even though the sun is out.
I have spent most of today at school with the lady in the office - she is going on long service at the end of term, so I will be doing the school newsletters while she is away. So I have been going through how things are done - the school computer is a litle different to mine (settings) so I have learn't how to do a few new things:)
I have been naughty food wise - just with snacking as it has been so cold - I know that is no excuse - so I am hoping for a turtle tommorrow at weigh in ( turtles are for staying the same, a cute little turtle button)
Tonight I am going to another scrapbook workshop. My sister has decided to become a consultant and do the workshops - she is so excited. She is having a demo next Thursday and when she gets enough sales she will recieve her kit:)
Well must go and get some excercise done before the boys come home:)
Have a great day everyone!

Monday, August 8

Feeling better!

I have had a very quiet few days - no voice for some of them...lol
Today I have been much better. At 11am I had to pick Luke up from school as he was pale and feeling icky - once home for an hour he was fine! Go figure!
I went for a half hour walk tonight when Vic got home, I have really missed my walks - so I am planning on going on Wednesday and Friday nights. On tuesday and thursday's I don't get home till it's dark ( I am too scared to walk in the dark!!)
Tommorrow the boys have a dental checkup at 9am - am hoping I can get their hair cut while I am in town. When I take them back to school I will try to get another walk in:)

Town club is in Victoria - but we are starting to get over the border in NSW. It is a non profit organisation, so they really care how you are going! I am a zone leader, which means I help other leaders in my 'area' when they need it - and I get paid at the AGM in september, which is pretty cool:)
Well better go get organised - some great telly on tonight :)

Saturday, August 6

I have been a bit sick since Friday - I have a scratchy throat and my voice sounds all funny, I also have been feeling tired. So I have not done any exercise yet for this week!
But my eating has been good - I have not stuck to the plan100%, I am using it as a guide and it is working well.
For the first time since I have started this weightloss journey I did not weigh more on Friday than I did at weigh in on Thursday - I was actually .1 down which I am stoked about ( even though I caved and had some chocolate!)
- And yes our meetings are alot of fun!!
I have mentioed before that I don't go to ww - my weigh in is called TOWN. We wear sashes and get little buttons each week, depending on how you went on the scales. This week I got a little star ( for losing .5 or more) a little fish ( for drinking water) and a little foot ( for exercise) aswell as my 4 week loss button - with four little pearls on it. The person who loses the most weigh for the week is Queen of the week, and the runner up the Princess - they get even nicer buttons then they get up and tell us what they did during the week!
It is a lovely bunch of ladies -we all have a great time:)
Not much planned for the rest of this weekend - just rest time for me I reckon:)
Hope everyone else is having a great weekend!

Thursday, August 4

Weigh in day!

Weighed in today and lost .6 - this is the first time for ages that I have lost 4 times in a row. I was given a little button today, if I lose for six weeks I get a bigger one. So that is a little goal of mine for the moment!
Todays eating has been to plan - except for some chocolate, but I am not stressing about that as I normally eat so much more junk on a thursday. I have even had 1 litre of water, and should get another one in before bed ( water is also slack on thursdays)
When I go to dads I normally have my one glass of real coke for the week - and I said no today - which I am happy about!
At weigh in group we had a body shop demo today which was real fun, we had footspas and manicures - so have had a great pamper today ( and spent a wee fortune on girly products!)
Hope everyone else is having a great day!

Wednesday, August 3

Was woken up very early this morning with hailstones on the roof and thought it was going to be a crappy day! But at the moment the sun is shining :)
I love nice days as I seem to get so much more done. I went to the butchers and got all my meat for the week, and came home and weighed it into individual portions - so I have no excuse to not following the plan! Also brought a yoghurt to take to weigh in for breakfast tommorrow.
Usually on weigh in day I am in town all day, I don't have breakfast before I leave and I end up having some form of takeaway for lunch, then visiting my dad( sometimes snacking there too) and as I am tired after coming home, and after school stuff - I don't get to start cooking till after 6.30...so dinner is very low key!
On fridays, on the scales I am normally more than thursday - so am finding that during the week I am making up for my "free" day! Hoping that will start to change:)
Tommorrows lunch is a salad sandwhich on wholegrain bread with a slice of ham and a piece of fruit. I will buy the sandwhich in the food court, I will having fruit from my shopping. Dinner is stirfry beef with vegies - which is quick and easy!
...Luke was very happy this morning to find $2 left for him from the tooth fairy (hubby) - I need to have a word to hubby when he gets home though - cause I can't find where he left the tooth, I am afraid he might have thrown it out when he emptied the water out of the glass!
I have kept all Jasons teeth in a little silver tooth tin, Luke may have to wait till next time:)
Have got the last Auskick today and they are all having party pies and hotdogs but I won't be ruining my weigh in chances - that is enough motivation for me not to eat...lol
Hope everyone is having a lovely day:)

Tuesday, August 2

It's been a busy day - this morning while he was getting dressed Luke lost his first tooth ( down the bottom, in the middle) He is so excited - he has told nearly the whole school!!

I had my scrapbook home workshop today, I kept it small with My sister, Jen and Colleen, my dad's girlfriend. It went really well - my sister is now saving money to get the consultant's kit and dad's girlfriend brought a starter pack - over $300 spent all together - so I got a free idea's book and an album at half price:)

Yesterday I worked with my friend, Caroline - and we went to the supermarket afterwards, she was buying avacado's so I thought I would grab one to try. I came home and had some squished on toast with melted cheese - it was so yumm I ended having 2 slices of the toast for tea!!

I have been hearing alot about the total wellbeing diet (csiro) and was given a photocopy of the diet plan that was in the paper ages ago - the breakfasts and lunches are basically what I have been eating - and there is some nice recipies for dinner. So I have written out my own plan based on the diet that I will start on thursday (weigh in day) to see how it goes. A big thing that is different is that there is a piece of fruit with lunch and sometimes dinner - which is what I have been lacking latley (naughty me)
The website that has alot of information on this is www.themainmeal.com.au

M, if you work out the points to the apple slice - can you let me know...thanks!

These days the primary school is in to healthy eating and recycling - the boys even get little certificates if they have a no wrapping lunch - so I brought them a tupperware lunchbox which keeps everything fresh ( and if they break - I get it replaced for free!!!)

I have another recipe that I was given at weigh in that I am going to try today - I have to have something to serve at my scrapbook party on Tuesday :)
If it works out I will post it later!!

Friday, July 29

I had a show meeting last night - so it was great to have a sleep in this morning.
I made the boys banana piklets for lunch, out of the 1st Annette Sym book and they went down well. Jason's homework this week is to bring in a recipe that is healthy, and that he likes to eat!
The class is going to be making a healthy recipe book. I will make some more piklets on sunday night for him to take with his recipe.
Thankyou for all your lovely comments about my loss - I will be working this week to make sure it doesn't follow :)
I just heard Oprah come on and it has Kirsty Alley on - so will sign off and go watch, this maybe the show M was talking about in her post today *wink*
Hope everyones weekend is great - not much planned here :)

Thursday, July 28

...the wait is over... I lost .1!!

Very happy with that as I thought I was going to gain up to a kilo:)
It has been a good day today - first my weigh in, then I went to Target and got a wrap cardigan the price tag said $69.99 and it rang up at $20.50, so I brought a pair of black trackies as well!
And when I got home I found that my craft trolley had arrived, with paper as well for scrapbooking, so I have spent the afternoon stocking it with all my scrapbook stuff.
Also while I was in Big W , they had dvd's for $8 each - so I got Carmen Electra fit to strip no4 and a movie for the boy's - flight of the navigator- a movie I saw and enjoyed when I was a kid.
The boys have no school tommorrow so I will give it to them when they ask for something to do!

Well must go get Jason ready for Karate!
Hope everyone is having a great day :)

Feeling Blah

Weigh in tommorrow and I think I will be in for a gain :(

I'm feeling yuk today as yesterday my eating was not flash, I went with Jason on an excursion to the Vic market and then to an enviroment park (CERES) - where the kids had great fun learning about recyling and making paper. Lunch was provided and I only had one litre of water because I did not have the luxury to run to he loo when ever I pleased. The ones at Ceres were horrible - the were compost toilets, just a seat with a hole in the ground!
The kids all went to go - but nobody was game to go in...lol.
At the market I brought a yummy garlic turkish bread - I was just going to have half for tea, but it was so nice I ended up eating the lot!
Since I wasn't home I have not done any exercise - I will be very good today to hopefully minimise the gain.
Well better go get some exercise done!
Have a great day everyone:)

Sunday, July 24

Today has been pretty quiet - Last night the family went to a chinese resturant to celebrate my brothers 21st. We all ordered a dish each and put it into the middle to share, and then ate from those little bowls. I think I did ok eating wise. I took 3 bottles of skyy lemon and lime and stuck to that though dinner. Afterwards we went back to Dads for a few drinks - I had one can of scotch, then stopped as I was driving. I was offered another later on, and I put it in my bag and brought it home:)
Today's eating;
Breakfast was instant oats with some prunes ( a tip from my weigh in group)
I had a really yummy lunch today - a wholemeal tortilla with salad, a little bit of cooked chicken topped with some sweetchilli sauce mixed with kraft free mayo - Just as nice as my favorite sweet chilli twister from KFC, and much better for me!
And tonight we are having apricot chicken, with potato and beans
I am on my third litre of water too!

Hope everyone had a great weekend - sounds like alot of cleaning has been going on:)

My long weightloss journey

I was not a fat kid - I was always the shortest and looking back I was tiny.
In high school my weight was around 55kilo's which isn't big, although I always thought I had big thighs/butt.
When I was nineteen I started working nightshift for Australia Post. My eating was all over the place - I used to have dinner on the way to work, usually a drive through, then at midnight had supper at the canteen (full of fat) and munched on choc and coffee with lots of milk and sugar at night to keep awake. I used to go to bed as soon as I came home ( so no breakie) and just pick when I woke in the afternoons. I hardly cooked at all!
-around this time I was well into the 70's
I fell pregnant with Jason when I was 21 - and did not improve with my eating. I worked up until a few weeks before the birth where I was weighing late 80's.
I took a year off after having Jason - being at home, less money I comfort ate myself up to 95 kilo's!
I went back to work part time when Jason was one - was not eating full meals as I was working at the GPO which did not have a canteen (which helped...lol)
I fell pregnant with Luke not long after - my 1st checkup weight was 88 kilo's. We had moved up here by then. It was 1 1/2 hours drive at night for work, and I ended up leaving as Vic didn't want me going that far whilst being pregnant! ( He actually drove me to work when I was preg with Jason)
Luke's pregnancy went well, I actually lost weight! my checkup book shows only a difference in a few hundred grams. That was because I was eating better - and we have stairs in this house- so was doing some exercise!
When Luke was a few weeks old I found out I had gallstones - when I first got the pain I thought I was in labor again... I told Vic that they must have left a baby in...lol
The pains got so bad that every 2nd day I was given pethadine shots, I could not have anything with oil or dairy. For two months I lived on vegies and dry biscuits, consenquently I got down to the low 70's. One I had the operation, I could eat anything I want - so I did!
Now forward a few years...
Two weeks before Lukes 3rd birthday I hurt my back- I didn't think to much of it, but by the morning I could not move without very intense pain ( which I felt was worse than labor) down my left side. I was taken to hospital by ambulance. I had back spasms and had to stay in hospital flat on my back for a week - then the second week had to use a walking frame. I came home the day before lukes birthday. It took about two weeks to not be moving stiffly again.
I weighed myself in hospital and was very shocked to read 98 kilo's!!
My doctor was telling me I had to lose weight, and I did not want to get to 100kilo's, so I was shocked into action! - around this time I did ww at home!
I started walking - doc's advice and found my back felt better for it!
In the next couple of months I had got down to 85 kilo's - just by eating better and walking!
I was going ok - but was relaxing a bit as I was not accountable to anyone.
My mum had started going to the town club a few months before, when I got up to 88 I started going with her.
Last october I got down to 75 kilo's which I was really happy about.
My Nan died in Oct, my eating was good, then was my 30th and after all the stress, I just ate whatever - and could not get back on track. I got up to 86 the other week!

Now I have started anew - and am doing well. I have lost 2.3 in 2 weeks so hopefully it will be downwards from here:)

Friday, July 22

Another great weigh in result, yesterday I lost .6 - which comes to a total of 2.3 kilo's lost since my new start!

I was reading M's blog last night, she was talking about writing something you are grateful for everyday, helps increase the chance on keeping focused to your goal.
So one thing I am thankful for is that while on this journey I have learn't to be a more adventurous cook. Before I found cooking to be a real chore, most was just meat and potato and vegies (boring), or else easy meals. For example I would make a lasagne with ready made pasta sauce - now I make my own sauce with fresh ingredients! I have really come to enjoy cooking and my husband does not miss the boring stuff...lol

At my weigh in group we have to write a small piece on our weight history - I realised looking back I have not written it here either, So when I get it done I will post it here too.

Hope everyone is having a great friday :)

Tuesday, July 19

I have not updated for a while - as I have been super busy!
On friday I had lunch with a girlfriend at the pub, she has just brought a house in the next town so it was a little get together to celebrate. I made good eating choices, and only had 1 scotch (as I did have to pick the boys up later on)
On saturday I cleaned out my fridge - so now it is full of fresh vegies all in plain view:)
On Sat night we went to a country theme dance - run by the local football club, we had to take nibbilies so I made a plate of low fat cheese, crackers and pickled onions and some chips for the boys. Supper was provided - which was a beef roll with gravy which I had with no butter. My only problem was I only planned on having 1 alcohol drink and I took a bottle of water as well. But my dad kept bringing me opened cans -and after the 2nd one I got the taste for it:(
I did do alot of dancing though - which not to long ago, I would have never got up due to being self concious. My hubby was happy as he always wants to get up and dance!
Yesterday I went for a ride with a friend to Daylesford - she has to work there next weekend so we went to see how to get there. The place she will be waitressing was huge, the manager let us go for a look around - we could have easily gotten lost!
Well this is getting long so will stop here and check out all your blogs!
Ciao

Thursday, July 14

Guess what!!!
I LOST!!

I could not believe it when I got on the scales - I lost 1.7kg this week.

Today at weigh in one of the girls brought in 10 kilo's of fat ( from the butchers)
It was a real eye opener - one of the girls had to walk out of the room she was so grossed out!
She also had little snaplock bags with the fat content of certain things, like a tim tam ect
- I will definently be staying away from timtams...lol..

I was talking to my mum today, and she told me that there is a work reunion planned for september. We both used to work for Australia Post in the city. I have not seen most of these people since Jason was a baby ( approx 85-90kg's ago) So I am determined to lose a decent amount of weight before then!

Well I am going to see if I can post a few photo's

Wednesday, July 13

I have not really posted about what I have been doing lately - all has been good. I have been exercising 30 min on my mini tramp every day. I have been drinking my 3 litres of water and my eating has been good too, even though I have added a few treats!
So hopefully a good result for weigh in tommorrow:)
We are home early today as Auskick was cancelled due to the rain. There are only a few more weeks to go, so hopefully no rain for the next few wednesdays!

I am going to my first scrapbook 'workshop' tonight. It is supposed to be different from a home class, not quite sure exactly how, but I am very excited! ( also great to great out of the house for the evening)

I also got my confirmation back to do another short course - this one is Food hygiene, will fit with the responsible service of alcohol one I did a few weeks ago. This one goes for three sessions - three tuesday nights in a row starting on the 16th of August!

Well must go get dinner ready before I go out :)

Stress Management

Picture yourself near a stream.
Birds softly chirping in the crisp, cool mountain air.
Nothing to bother you here.
No one knows this secret place.
You are in total seclusion from that place 'the world'
The soothing sound of a waterfall fills the air with a cascade of serenity.
The water is so clear...you can easily make out the face
Of the person whose head you are holding underwater.
There now... feeling better??

Enjoy!

All is great!

Things have been really good the last few days - I have had my water and exercised and I am feeling so much better for it!
I had dinner with my sister who turned 19 yesterday, even though I had some cake and alcohol I did not go overboard.
I have been going through healthy recipes, and I have a list for the rest of the week.
We are having chicken curry tonight, something I cooked for hubby a while ago -and he didn't realise it was low fat!

...also congratulations to Karen who announced her pregnancy yesterday!!

Brendan

Here is a photo of my little brother in front of one of the cars.
They gave him a copy of this photo with his name and date on it,
laminated as a keepsake.
When driving the fastest speed he got up to was 170kmph.
His girlfriend was not looking forward to him driving home...lol.

Yay - I finally got some photo's working, those are of the boys at the park yesterday!

The photo here is of the boys in front of the car my brother drove.
Had a really early morning, left home just before seven to get down to calder raceway. It was great, the kids had a ball. I had a bowl of porridge before I left. Afterwards we all went to
Highpoint and the kids had mcdonalds, I had a kfc burger with a small potato and gravy. I have drunk a litre of water so far (the most I have drunk for a while:) Dinner will be maybe cheese on toast , as I am already too tired to cook...lol.

Jason

Well weighed in this morning - gained 2.7 arghh

I am glad this weigh week is over - I will be back to it this week. I have noticed that while eating crap I have had headaches, been really tired and a little constipated, so I am looking forward to feeling great again!

I took the boys to a huge park in sunbury today, so have already had some exercise running around after them.

About the car - it's in at the panel beaters, with insurance we should pay $450 excess - but the guy said maybe (fingers crossed) that we may not have to pay that - since noone was in the car at the time of the accident. It is up to the assesor. The tire marks are still pretty deep in the yard across the road and the police came and took photo's. Will just have to wait and see.

Tommorow morning we are going to calder raceway to watch my brother drive a rally car - the boys can't wait! It is my brothers 21st present from the family. His birthday isn't till the 21st July we will be going out for dinner then. It is my sister Jenny's birthday on Saturday too!
- but I am going to be really great foodwise :)

Well I brought a folder thingy to put all my scrapbook stickers in, so will go and organise that!

Monday, July 4

I'm back!

Sorry for no update for the last few days - since it's school holidays, I have been staying down town with my sister. It was her sons 1st birthday on saturday!

This week has been pretty crap eating wise - It started on Thursday, I gained .7 . I was not happy I did not expect a loss since I didn't do alot of exercise, but I did soo good with my eating...
But now I have stuffed up for next week weigh in big time...

Because I have not been at home in my junk food free enviroment, I have been eating out every night -and way to much! Today is the first that I have drunk water. I am too scared to get on the scales!!

Other news - my husband left his car out the front last night and at 3am, some drunk driver smashed into it, damaging the left side lights and indicater and the bumperbar. He took it for a quote today and it comes to $3,000 damage. So I have been stress eating toaday too!

I think my plan will be to write off this week - and start anew on Thursday:)

Wednesday, June 29

Just a quick post;
With help from Kate, I have managed to get a photo done. Not the best, but it's a photo! At the moment I can only see it if I look on view profile. So now there is a face behind the blog..

Since Luke started school this year I have been wanting to return to the workforce, but have found it hard due to lack of experience ( and I don't want to go back to my old job!)
So last night I did a short course, responsible serving of alcohol which was fun - and the first time I had been in a classroom for at least 12 years ( I feel so old...lol)
I passed my test, and the teacher said the certificate will arrive in a few weeks - I'm very excited since this is my first one!

Also took Jason to the dentist yesterday - he needs a filling so has to go back next week.

Eating and water has been great - not much exercise with the boys being home though!

Monday, June 27

Weekend over...

It has been a very busy weekend;
On saturday I had a central council meeting in bendigo - which is 1 1/2 hours travel each way!
It was good to hear what's happening - and we get a free lunch, low fat of course!

Then we had the suprise party for Rhonda at a pub, she was already there with two friends having a drink. She got a big surprise when she was brought into the dining area to find 25 others waiting for her! It was a great night - didn't get home till 1am. I was good though choosing healthy options for dinner, and only having a little bit of icecream cake. I did not have a drink, as I was driving home so stuck to water!

On sunday I had the kids - since Vic had them all day Saturday, they ended up going to play with friends...so when the lady came around and delivered my scrapbooking stuff I had the afternoon free to play around - thats why no update yesterday!

Today (first day of holidays) I have babysat a friends 3 kids most of the day so she could go to the dentist. When the kids were eating lunch I did 4k's on her treadmill.
Other exercise today has been walking from the service station after I dropped my car off to get some tyres put on, walking to my friends house, and picking the car up again which = approx 15minutes.

I have been drinking my water, 2 litres down already, 1 to go
eating has been good - except for some biscuits today:)

Well must go get some dinner organised!

Ps Kate have got on to flickr - need to wait for an email back for verification :)

Weigh in this morning was great - I lost 1.1 kilo's

This has to be the bigest loss in quite a while!
I treated my self to the new so fresh winter cd - to listen to while I am exercising
- and brought a new handbag :)

Today at my weigh in we had a suprise morning tea for a member who turned 50 yesterday, and who also finish her 2nd lot of radiation for breast cancer last week - it was a great suprise for her!
She doesn't know yet but a few of us are meeting her for dinner on Sat night:)

I am reved up to have a great week this week..so stay tuned:P

Wednesday, June 22

Finally things are going great on the weight loss front! Since Sunday I have had my water - 3litres, exercised and have eaten well - even had some chocolate.

It feels so good to be in control, and for once I can't wait to get on the scales tommorrow to see how I have done. I went shopping yesterday and I was proud of myself for walking past the food court, and the choc isle in the supermarket - and just buying a loaf of bread, and making a yummy egg sandwhich when I got home!

It has been cold and rainy here the last few days, we have footy training tonight - it is going to be freezing. I have made a big batch of pumpkin soup to have for tea when we get home.

And Kate, I also walk around the house to get moving - I have floorboards so it gets a bit noisy, so I put the stereo on real loud so the neighbours won't know what I am up to!

Well I am off to get some mini tramp done...

Monday, June 20

Starting from scratch...

My weekend eating has been really bad - I'm not sure if it is the implant or not, but I have been craving chocolate real bad and I have been giving in to it, I am feeling a bit sorry for my self with my arm hurting when I move it too fast!
I have really found it so hard to get back into healthy eating, after a few weeks of eating loads of crap - But I have to just do it anyway!

I found a quote;
"Short term satisfaction will not bring me to my long term goals"

I have written this on a post it, and put it on the fridge. To make me think twice when I open the door!

I started using my mini tramp too, I have done 2x 15 minutes jogging (in front of the telly).
The reason I brought it was I have really been lacking exercise wise for quite a while now - on sunday I was reved up o go for a walk - but it was pouring with rain, but with the mini tramp I don't have the excuse of rain. The kids don't know I have it yet - as it is hidden in my room, so during the holidays I may have to bring it out. I have been hiding it from them because I once had a gym ball, they they liked playing with too. One day I found it deflated, shoved away in a cupboard with a huge cut in it. if they cut my tramp I will not be happy!!

I have also got back into the water, yesterday I had 3 litres, and I am 1/2 way through my 2nd litre ..so I should get through 3 again today!

Well this has got a bit long.....Ciao

A long time between updates

It has been over a week since I last updated, my computer 'died' last week!

My neighbour, who is a computer wiz kinda fixed it and gave me some parts - but now I need to save up to buy a new one :(
.. So what's been happening;
My niece has gone back to Tassie - so there are no tempting foods in the house!

I gained .1 this week
So far I have not done much exercise for the week, because I got my implanon implant removed, and a new one put in so my arm has been a bit sore - and I had a headache thurs night and Friday.

I did buy a mini tramp this week though and intend to use that during the day, as it has been raining really hard lately :)

Well i must go and find all the other blogs I read and bookmark them, as well as reading how people have been going!

Have a good weekend!!

Friday, June 10

weigh in results...

I am up really early today...Jason threw up about an hour ago, and when I went back to bed I could hardly breathe as my nose is blocked, and I was keeping Vic awake with my sneezing. So I got up and put a laod of washing on, and thought I may as well update.

So I weighed in yesterday and the result was a gain of 2 kilo's!!

I have picked myself up..and am now moving on :)
As Vix said, ' I am going to ake control of my next step towards my goal', which will be to get rid of the 2 kilo's.
thankyou everyone for your words of encouragement..without those comments I could see myself falling big time..
Not alot planned for today - but I will do some exercise and I will et back into drinking water - I have been very slack with that as well.

Might update later...hope you all have a great day!!

shocking ...

Just a quick post -
Things are not good on the food front - to many take aways :(
The only exercise I have had was walking around highpoint yesterday, which is not good!
I did buy alot of scrapbook stuff though:)
we are going out for tea again tonight,
So weigh in will definetly be horrible tommorrow
I am going to have to get back to basics - this week has been shocking, I really don't want to weigh in tommorrow.
It is so hard having other people around - I have been doing so well in my 'no fail' enviroment. This week I have been craving junk, because it has been laying around.

So starting tommorrow - Back to Basic's.....

Monday, June 6

great weekend

Well Jason came home friday afternoon - he had had a blast at camp - he had lost his voice a little, so it must have been some late nights!

The State night was great - I met Annette Sym, she was lovely, I have a photo but for some reason it won't work, but I can email to people if you wanna see!
I had alot of wine, it was good just to get out. Most times when we go out I am the driver, so I don't get to drink much. I even got picked up by one of the waiters - he was not bad looking either :), I told him I was married, and even showed photo's of the kids - and he still stayed and talked for a while. It was flattering since that has not happened in a long time!

I got home about lunchtime on Saturday and took the kids to a party ( my friends son) , she had hired a magician - and he was great, they also had a jumping castle - so the kids were well occupied, which was just as well as I had a huge headache :)

Yesterday I picked up my niece from the airport - she is over for a week or so - she is from Hobart. It has been a while since she has been here, so the boys have been all over her. She is 22, my hubby's sister's daughter. It feels funny calling her my niece when ther is not a huge difference in age!

Not much else is happening - my eating has been horrible, because Sarah has chocolate everywhere, and I find it REALLY hard to resist :(

Not sure when I will update next - family does not know about this journal- so I will see how I go!

Have a good lond weekend for those in NZ!!

Thursday, June 2

I lost!!

Weigh in today and I lost .4 :)
I already feel more positive than I did this time last week - which means no emotional eating
- It does feel good when you are feeling in control!

It was a very quiet night last night with Jason gone - Luke had fun playing with Jasons things..lol.
Tommorrow the school is having a pancake breakfast..and Luke will be teasing his brother about missing out!

The hot choc is $4.75 at coles, for 10 separate serves. - I resisted and did not buy any today :)
I only found out last night (half way through the pack) that the packet also has a chocolate shaker, to shake over the top..which is included in the points - so I have been actually having less. I will keep the shaker for something else - as I have not missed it!

Tommorrow night I am going to what my slimming club calls State night, which includes members from all over the state for an award ceremony, I went last year too and it was great fun. This year Annette Sym - the one who wrote the simply too good cookbooks will be there, which will be exciting. All the girls are going by bus, I can see it being a very noisy bus - I am not going to drive back home, so I will get dropped off at my Dads house..a whole night without the kids..yay!

I am going to another scrapbook party tommorrow, Jason comes home after that - and I have to be ready and out of the house at 5pm, So I might not be able to update till the weekend.
Hope you all have a great weekend:)

Wednesday, June 1

I have just come home from watching the bus take my son to camp. He was so excited and was up early and got ready to go...I wish he was like that on normal school mornings!

Luke didn't want to go to class till the bus left, he is going to miss Jason alot since the nights they are away from home, they are normally away together!

The camp is in melbourne, they are going to the zoo today, and up the rialto tower tonight.

Food wise; things have been good - the scales are still around the same as last week, and I am happy with that! Having a bit of trouble getting the water down though as the weather is getting cold.
I found a new hot choc drink that has helped me with choc cravings - Nestle double blend hot chocolate - for those who count points I worked it out to be in between 1 and 1.5 on the cardboard slide. That is just for the hot choc flavor - it also comes in choc mint and choc caramel
I love the double blend choc - and this drink tastes just the same!

Well I must go and get some work done!

Monday, May 30

Thank you

I just want to thank everyone for their kind words :)

I had a quiet weekend, and got back on track with my eating.
I got on the scales this morning and I am about the same as last week - so I didn't do to much damage on thursday and friday!

Not much else to report, I am still on track- and intend to stay that way!

Hope everyone else is doing well :)

frustrated

This is my second attempt at writing - the power went off last night before I had a chance to save what I had written.

I weighed in yesterday and lost another .1 , very frustrating since I have eaten quite well during the last week.
To top it off I was picking at food all afternoon...argh!

Today I am going out for lunch at the local pub with a friend, so I am planning to have something light for dinner!

Not much else to say - in a bit of a grumpy mood!

Will go and catch up on my emails and other blogs!

Tuesday, May 24

Quick update...

I did an exercising video as soon as I dropped the kids off to school, It feels so good to have it out of the way early on - and I think I am actually thinking a bit more when I eat something, because I don't want to ruin the work that I have done - this is a habit I want to continue!

Today I went to a scrapbooking demo, and it was great fun, I think I am hooked already!
I took some photo's of both the boys together, I am very happy with the end result!
One of the other women is having another one on the 3rd june! I have already gone through photo's to see which ones I want to take. From the demo I brought a starter kit - it's a shame I have to wait a few weeks for delivery :(

Eating has been good today, I had one little 'finger food' thingy at the demo, and it was horrible - so that stopped me from having anything else :) I am half way through my 2nd litre of water.

Luke has been feeling better today - he went to school, but was a bit to tired to stay back for the after school sport activities!

Thanks Flutter for the offer of help - I will write to U

Night all :)

Blogs I read

Since I can't work out how to do this list on the side - I thought I would list them here:
Angel
A girl running
Anne
Chubbymum
Deb
Hayley
Flutterbye
Janene
Janine
Just4Jo
Karen
Kate
Lyn
Margaret
Paulene
Rainy
Today I started well by doing an exercise video as soon as I got home from taking the boys to school - I had noticed that I am getting a bit slack in that department!

I am glad I did it early, because I had to go pick Luke up, because he isn't feeling well - he is complaining of a sore ear, so it may be an ear infection ( he has had a few, but is normally more sooky than he is today)
I could not get into the doctors until 3.45 - it is so annoying only having one doctor, living in a small town does suck sometimes!

Some good news though, ages ago I entered a competition for Blackmores destress, and I won a T-shirt, a lovely purple/mauve colour. It was a great surprise since I had forgotten I had actually entered. This is the first thing I have ever won!!

The T-shirt is a size 10 - so won't fit me at the moment, but,
I am going to join Kates challenge and try to lose 10 kilo's in 18 weeks.
If, I mean WHEN, I succeed I will be down to 72 kilo's!!

A poem

Sorry for lack of updates, been really busy - we had the opening ceremony of the primary school today, so have had to help "behind the scenes" for the last few days!

I weighed in yesterday and lost ..... a huge 100g!!
I wasn't too happy, as I had been soo good all week, hopefully it may mean a better loss
next week :)

Here is a poem I thought you all would enjoy!

DON'T QUIT!

When you've eaten too much and you can't write it down.
And you feel like the buggest failure in town.
When you want to give up, because you gave in,
and forgot all about being healthy and thin.
So What! You went over your points a bit,
It's your next move that counts...

So, DON'T YOU QUIT!

It's a moment of truth, it's an attitude change.
It's learning the skills to get back to your range.
It's telling yourself, "You've done great up to now.
You can take on this challenge and beat it somehow."
It's part of your journey towards reaching your goal.
You're sill gonna make it, just stay in control.
To stumble and fall is not a discrace,
if you summon the will to get back in the race.
But, often the struggler's, when losing their grip,
Just throw it the towel and continue to slip.
And learn too late when the damage is done,
that the race wasn't over...they still could have won.
Lifestyle change can be awkward and slow,
but facing each challenge will help you grow.
Success is failure turned inside out,
the silver tint in a cloud of doubt.
When you're pushing to the brink, just refuse to submit.
If you bite it, you write it...

But

DON"T YOU QUIT!

Quote

I found this today...

"Finish everyday and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doub have crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tommorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenly, with too high a spirit to be cumbered with your old nonsense. This day is all that is good and fair. It is too dear, with it's hopes and invitations, to waste a moment on yesterdays."
Ralph Waldo Emerson

I really like that quote!

Today has been good - I got the thingy to clean the chimney - so Vic should be able to do it tonight when he gets home, it is getting chilly already - so hopefully it will work!

I had french toast for breakfast, left over pasta for lunch , rice crackers for snack and have made chicken in plum sauce for tea. i am half way through my second bottle of water!

Well better go take Jason to karate!

Night all

Gingerbread friends

Here is the recipe out of the slimming magazine;

makes 24
cook time 8-10 min

250g self raising flour
2 tsp ground ginger
1 tsp cinnamon
100g low fat spread, chilled
50g brown sugar
2 tbsp golden syrup
1 egg, lightly beaten

Preheat oven to 180c. line two trays with baking paper. combine flour, gingerand cinnamon together. Rub in spread with fingerips. Stir in sugar, golden syrup and egg to form soft dough. On a lightly floured board roll out dough to 5mm thick. Cut out using a small gingerbread cutter. Transfer to prepared trays. Bake for 8-10 minutes till lightly golden.
You can decorated with icing!

I didn't have a gingerbreadman cutter - so I made stars instead, and I didn't worry about the decorating!

Monday, May 16

Everything going well today, it is amazing how much you can get done when you are in the right frame of mind!

Made the penne in bacon sauce for tea, had a toasted sandwich for lunch and porridge for breakfast, and have had my water!

Only problem today was I made some gingerbread cookies from the new slimming magazine, and ate a few to many -:( they were really nice though!

Well only quick tonight, we have no fire cause the chimney is a bit blocked - there was smoke coming out everywhere, so an early night under the doona with a book for me!

Ps Glad you liked the statement below, I intend to read it often!!

Sunday, May 15

"I am responsible for what I eat.
The choice to eat healthily is mine.
Nobody is forcing me to overeat.
My body reflects how I approach food.
I can choose to change how I look and to take better care of myself."

A quiet day at home today - sorted out some clothes Vic got off our friend who is moving, so tommorrow I have to find some space in our closet for them!

Good day eating wise, had porridge for breakfast, left over chicken pie for lunch and mongolian beef for tea( and have put the rest in a container for Vic to take for lunch). No snacking, had one sugar free lolly. I have already had my two litres of water, so things going great!

Now I am going to go get my Annette Sym books, and plan my shopping list for next week while I watch big brother!

Night all :)

Saturday, May 14

A good day

Today has been good eating wise, I made french toast this morning out of Annette Syms book, and it was yum..and filling too. For dinner I made the chicken pie which went down really well with the rest of the family! and I am on my second litre of water!

I have not exercised today - but I moved the boys bedrooms which took a bit of energy moving desks and shelves. They are enjoying having 'new' rooms!

I scored a crockpot today - the owner is moving overseas,he didn't have any room to take it but didn't want to get rid of it , so I am borrowing it till he comes back! I have seen alot of recipies on the ww forum - so I will have to check them out!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Stayed the same

Weighed in thursday morning - (in the lightest clothes I could find) and the result was the same as last week, we call it a turtle at our club. So I was very relieved!
I borrowed a book from the meeting - breaking free from compulsive eating, so I will be having a good read of that during the next week!

Now I'm off to ge the boys ready for school!

" Positive thoughts. Premote postive reactions."

P.s Happy Birthday Rachel!

Wednesday, May 11

I was just reading kimba's blog - and it made a lot of sense about how I have been feeling!
- the address is http://www.kimbaleo.com/
Eating has been fine today - I have put the nutella incident behind me, and have been drinking alot of water too!

Tuesday, May 10

I feel sick!

I feel sick, I caved and ate half a jar of nutella and now I feel so sick. I don't know why I did it - maybe bordom? maybe emotional?
This is something I used to do alot - I HAD been at least 2 months nutella free!!
- so now I feel a bit of a failure, since I was going along so well.

Yesterday the guy came to fix the dishwasher - and I also got him to fix the lid off the washing machine - hubby had broken it ( dunno how!) which meant for the last few weeks I had a bit of wire holding a bit up, so the machine would work - so I am happy that it is now fixed!
- about the dishwasher, he had to take the whole thing apart to find the leak - it took ages, and he will get back to me, to see if he can get a new part. So still washing dishes - my hands are so dry at the moment!

Well housework needs to be done - will update later!

Monday, May 9

Monday

Kids go up early yesterday morning, got some lovely homemade cards, candles and bath salts and oils, and a lovley little frame with a mother poem in it. Then Jason went to sunday school and brought home some chocolates that he had made - ate a few to many :(

Mothers day luch was at Mum's, it was nice to catch up with family - it is not very often that we all are together in the same place at the same time. (I have 2 brothers and 2 sisters)
We had pumpkin soup and roast lunch - followed by cakes for dessert, I only had a really tiny bit of cake though as I was full before they came out!

Rushed home in time to get the kids bathed and ready for bed so I could sit down and watch Big Brother - it's looking interesting already, I am already hooked - I wanna see how the twin thing works out!

Well not alot happening today - I am waiting for a guy to come and hopefully fix the dishwasher:)

Water has been good the last few days - too much snacking though,
I will have to get my butt into gear - or I will be headed for a gain!

Saturday, May 7

Sports day for the boys went well, Jason got a 2nd and 4th ribbon, and Luke a 1st and 4th ribbon - so both are stoked!!

My neighbour (Anne) had her little girl yesterday at 5.45pm - so we went in to see her tonight, she called her Sidney Errin Frances, she was 6lb 12oz, she is gorgeous and soo tiny :)

Today we went to pipeworks market, which was fun - we walked around for a long time and the boys( all three..lol.) had fun on the dodgem cars. I picked up 2 dvds for the boys - 'robots and 5 and it', and I got hitch for me~ a great bargain at $10 each

"Happy mothers day" for all the mothers out there for tommorrow!!
We are going to my Mums for lunch this year!

Friday, May 6

I didn't update yesterday because I had a nagging headache, and went to bed early...

So weighed in yesterday and lost .3 which I was very happy with, cause I had expected a gain from the junk I had eaten - I suppose the walking helped!

We had a product presentation at the meeting yesterday, the lady brought in some valia yogurts for us to take home - and they are really nice - we also tried a low fat choc mousse and the nanas apple pies. So it was a fun morning. she also gave us a sheet about a company called healthe, they have a site healthe.com.au , I have not looked it up yet ..but for a $49 membership, you get discounts at coles and other places, and there is supposed to be alot of health and wellness info!
So I will be having a look at that!

Well I have to go and get ready - the boys have a sports day today, and I am a helper, so alot of walking around for me today.

Tuesday, May 3

Lukes Birthday

Well today my baby is six! It doesn't seem that long ago he was a coming home from hospital...lol
He got up at the crack of dawn to open his presents - spent the rest of the morning playing with his new remote control car!

I went and brought a set of food scales today, as the cheap ones I have are not very accurate, and I figure if I am going to do this properly, I need to make sure my measurements are right. Normally I am a "pinch of this, dash of that" type of cook. I only paid $30 for some basic ones that go from 1g to 2kg, it can also do ounces - which some old recipies have and I can reset to add other ingredients. So I am very happy!!
So I had to play with my new toy - so I measured out a heap of mince into 100g serves, for single portions for me, and measured everything properly for the lasagne I made for tea. I love new toys:)

Well I have done 10 minute airwalker, 25 minute walk and I am on my 2nd bottle (litre) of water, so things going well so far. After tea I have planned to have a small slice of cake.

Does washing dishes count as exercise? I have been doing a lot of sinkfuls for the last two days because the dishwasher has decided to leak all over the floor! My husband came home last night and laughed at me doing the dishes saying"thats not something I see very often!"
I miss my dishwasher!!!

Monday, May 2

Cake,cake,cake

Today has mostly consisted of making cakes, and wrapping presents. It is Luke's birthday tommorrow; I made a heap of iced cupcakes for Luke to share with his class, and also a big cake for the family, with a race track on it. I think I did pretty well not licking my fingers too much!!

I also went for a 1/2 hour walk, and I have had my two litres of water. Eating has been very good too, to compensate for any stray cake mixture/icing :)

Well short and sweet tonight. Desperate housewives is on very soon,
Seeya's all tommorrow :)
