This week I have felt really fat and frumpy!!
I have weigh in tommorrow, the first for two weeks;
In the past fortnight my exercise and eating has been very dismal. The only thong I have really kept up is my water.
The main reason has been change of routine and lack of planning~coming home from the cafe tired and having takeaway - or something quick and easy - not healthy!
I knew that I had already gained early on in the week, and I kinda got depressed about it...
So what did I do??
I ATE MORE!!
A normal person would have exercised and eaten like a angel!
I frustrate myself!!!
BUT
I have prepared to have a great week ahead!
I have worked out my meals ~ written my shopping list, and that is all I will be buying.
No excuses!!
When I am working I have had lunch made for me - from now on I will be making myself something healthy!...and I will NOT touch any of the cakes or slices:)

I am feeling positive and I won't let tommorrows gain get me down, because
I already know it will be a better result next week!

*Update*
Weighed in and gained 2 kilo's!
I am hoping to lose a decent part of that next week!
I have all my vegies to chop up, I will have them in a container - so I just need to grab a handful for a stirfy. I have different sauces and meat for variety. It wont take long to cook tea at all - no takeaway's for me:)

great attitude Hey girl don't bash yourself up you have gone thru some big changes and it is natural to be tired. You can now see where u need to step to get back on track and you are doing it. Go you. If I am having a busy week like this one I cook a few meals ahead, stews, casseroles that type of thing or a meat loaf then all I have to do it throw the veges on and hey that can get pretty easy to some nightss with frozen this and that...have u tried those steamed veges they r yum and SO easy. To help get away from the takeaway trap.

I like what Jodie posted, it's so true.

Don't be too hard on yourself Leighanne, this is a new challenge for you to deal with and you will. Your plan of having your vegies all chopped up and ready to go so that you can whip something up super quickly is awesome.

The only way is forward. Don't beat yourself up. It's not easy getting yourself into a new routine and I understand how tired you are. I still get buggared in the evening especially when I see everything I have to do before I get into bed. The trick is making sure you've got something easy that you can whip up in no time. Making a shopping list is the best way, and don't deviate from it.

You have come so far. Maybe you should reward yourself - buy something that makes you feel good about yourself. It does wonders for your self esteem.

Take care, and remember you are not alone.

Good on you for being so positive and doing all that planning - I'm sure you are going to have a great week because of it! :-)

like everyone else has said, the only way to look is up, youve taken the first step to redeeming yourself by planning and preparing a head, you will find cooking this way will take a lot less time than getting takeaways will! (and a bit easier on your pocket too!)

Pleased to see you have put the week behind you and are looking forward by being prepared. You really are going well and I feel it is just a matter of adapting to the new routine now you are a working Mum! out of home that is.....all Mums work!

You mentioned that normal people would eat like angels in that situation. No Way. Normal people react the same way you did. And then, like you, take steps to minimise or reverse the gain. Its only analy retentive weirdo's (like me LOL) who react by eating better. I am seeking help ;)

Have a great day

It is hard when you start working again and don't have much time when you get home. You will be right from now on and you sound like you are getting really organised.

You sound like you are really well prepared. And no your not a failure - I know myself I just can't behave sometimes so you are not alone there at all. Be good to your self and have a great weekend.

I am the same way when I blow my diet, rather than slowing down and try to get the weight back under control I get all mad at myself and eat MORE. Luckily this happens less often and the past year or so I have been running enough to help keep this in check somewhat.

I like the idea about planning out your meals and preparing your shopping lists from the plan. My wife and I both work so we tend to eat more junk than we should because neither one of us feels like cooking some nights. Well to be honest I don't feel like cooking any night, but I'm a man and have an excuse! Okay, my wife doesn't buy that either ;-)

It's a hard fight getting over the 'depressive eating', I've fought this most of my life. It has only been the last year or two that I have finally made major headway. I wish you luck and encourage you to keep going, don't give up the fight!

On frumpy days (I had one like this this morning too!) put on a pair of trousers or a top that you used to wear when you were your start weight! It helps! You get so sick of hitching up your pants that you don't have time to think how frumpy you feel!
Great idea to plan ahead. It will certainly make a difference next weigh in.

:o)

Hi Leighanne,

Thanks for leaving a comment in my blog! ;o)

My mantra:
If I stumble 9 times, I will pick myself up 10 times.

Dust yourself off and keep moving forward.

like everyone has said you have not failed because you have not given up. Hey I do that often be bad and then react by being worse. You are doing the right thing planning and shopping to succeed. It is hard to be a working mum but you will get used to it and the more organised you are the better it will be.

I know only too well how much a change in routine can effect you. My shift work is playing with me too atm and I'll blog about that after my weigh in. And emotional eating (at the time) does seem easier when you're down but you've got to fight it. You'll feel much better if you can force yourself to go for a walk or something.

Planning is the key and it sounds like you're already onto it!! Be good to yourself hon!
